EDX Releases SignalPro v8.4

Eugene, OR. November 21, 2016 – EDX Wireless, the leading provider of wireless network design solutions, announces the release of SignalPro® v8.4.  The latest release of wireless network design software includes many new features along with the ability to add high-resolution data to SignalPro projects via the new annual data subscription service; EDX Cirrus™.

EDX Cirrus includes high resolution hybrid clutter, terrain, vector, demographic, and social media data. The EDX Cirrus service provides regularly updated data, ensuring users have the most current and accurate information available.  Annual subscription plans include the continental US, global data, or data for a particular service area as defined by one-square degree tiles – providing a cost effective alternative to purchasing data outright.  Current SignalPro users will be able to utilize EDX Cirrus data in existing projects.

“The evolution of wireless networks has led to deployments in complex services areas along with a more data analytics approach to system design.  The EDX Cirrus service will continue to grow in order to provide engineers the data needed for intelligent network design” said Roger Skidmore, CEO of EDX Wireless.

In addition to this new service, SignalPro v8.4 includes many new features that serve as an upgrade across the entire EDX product portfolio.  Among these features is the new ‘write to pdf’ functionality, giving users the ability to generate custom reports for link and multilink studies as well as study queries.  This is especially useful for situations in which reports are being presented to customers, end users or shareholders.

There have also been many improvements made to multipoint studies. Users will now be able to add more technical specifications to CPEs; providing flexibility in the setup of projects and the ability to specify the precise parameters of hardware and how those parameters affect networks in real world applications.  The multipoint study engine has also been upgraded to give users better performance, particularly for those studies that incorporate a large number of devices/nodes.

Furthermore, a new study for routes/transportation has been added to allow users to use directional antennas that are oriented along a particular route or path.  Those who model rail and other transportation networks will now be able to run route studies with a greater degree of accuracy.

EDX continues to enhance its industry leading software by adding the features and services needed for continually evolving wireless network design.
